                                                                                    CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO BACS COUNCIL 2009

Members are invited to nominate candidates for Treasurer and Ordinary Council Member on the BACS Council to the Honorary Secretary (Norman Stockman secretary@bacsuk.org.uk) by 10 August 2009. Elections to Council will be held at the BACS AGM on 10 September 2009, to be held at the Joint East Asian Studies Conference at Sheffield. More details.


President
Tim Wright (2008-)  Professor of Chinese Studies at the University of Sheffield. Before that he spent twenty years in Australia, where he was President of the Chinese Studies Association of Australia, 1997-1999. His research is on modern Chinese economic history, where he is working on economic fluctuations in the 1920s and 1930s, and on the political economy of the contemporary Chinese coal industry, on which he has published an analysis of coal mining accidents.
